Who are my clients?

I support all clients irrespective of race, religion, class, culture, sexual orientation, and ethnicity. My clients often come from the international professional or expat community although not exclusively.

Is therapy confidential?

Counselling is strictly confidential. Without your permission, nothing will be disclosed to third parties. Confidentiality can only be breached in exceptional circumstances where the safety of you or others is at risk.

For the purposes of treatment it is necessary for me as your therapist to keep some information about you. This is also a legal requirement imposed by the Wet op de geneeskundige behandelovereenkomst (Wgbo). Your dossier contains my notes and other information about the treatment programme. The dossier may also include other information about you that is necessary for treatment which has been obtained from another healthcare provider with your explicit permission.

The information in your dossier can be use for the following purposes:

  • To brief another healthcare provider to whom you are referred for additional treatment. This will only be done with your explict permission.

  • In anonymized form for the purpose of professional supervision of my practice.

The invoice you receive will show the information required for you to submit a claim to your health insurer: name, address, birth date, treatment date, treatment description (e.g., "psychosociaal consult"), and cost.

Communication

I work with adult clients (18+) and I speak English and Dutch fluently.

What does it cost?

per / Jan 1st 2024

A 60-minute session costs €135.

A 90-minute session costs €195.

The length of the sessions are agreed upon in advance and the costs include VAT when applicable. Clients will be billed for appointments missed without at least 24 hours notice.

Will therapy be covered by my insurance?

Many insurance companies cover the cost of counselling; please review the conditions of your own insurance policy. A summary of insurers and the coverage they offer for counselling can be found at zorgwijzer.nl. Reintegration plans (IRO, individuele re-integratie overeenkomst), the personal health care budget (persoonsgebonden budget) and other tax exemptions are also available and can help alleviate costs for those who qualify.

What can I do if I am not satisfied?

Were you to have complaints that I could not resolve to your satisfaction you can approach the disputes committee of the SCAG.

The general terms and conditions of my practice, which adhere to the recommendations of the ABvC, can be downloaded.
